Water Main Construction on
Collier Road
Starting July
12, the City of Atlanta will begin work to install a new water
main on Collier Road between Ardmore Drive and Dellwood Drive.
The work will take place from 9AM and 4PM Monday through Friday,
and should be completed by August 2nd. Expect significant
traffic delays.
Collier Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic while
construction takes place. The official notice can be found

Battle of Peach Tree Creek
- July 20, 1864
This battle was
fought throughout the area from Collier at Peachtree through
Collier at Howell Mill.
This link contains a brief write-up of the presentation
given by Robert Jenkins on July 17, 2009 regarding the battle.
There are numerous historic monuments around the neighborhood
discussing details of the fighting. Mr. Jenkins is
publishing a book on the battle due out in 2010. It will
likely be very interesting.
Pulte Homes
Building Condos on Ardmore Circle Property.
Pulte Homes is expecting to build condos on the empty property
on Ardmore Circle. The previous project by another
developer was cancelled. A preliminary plan of the project
is posted on the
information
links page, along with the tree removal/replacement plan. The condos will have approximately 2000
square feet, not including garage. They will list in the
upper 300's.
